The Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) is seeking a new Director General. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in guiding global research and action on sustainable development.
IDDRI is an independent think tank, founded in 2001, that facilitates the transition towards sustainable development. An independent policy research institute and a multi-stakeholder dialogue platform, IDDRI’s research and influencing is strengthened by alliances and networks of expertise in many countries around the world. The Institute's activities are focused on: climate; biodiversity and ecosystems; oceans; and sustainable development governance.

The Board of IDDRI is now seeking to recruit an exceptional Director General to represent the Institute in national and international arenas, give voice to its analysis and policy recommendations, and expand its impact on policymakers from the private and public sectors. The new Director General will lead IDDRI at the strategic and operational level, defining ambitions for impact, while supporting and motivating a talented group of staff to deliver excellence. S/he will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key partner institutions including governments, high-level donors, company executives and thought-leaders, acting as an influential and powerful voice for IDDRI across a wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a clear vision for sustainability and will be able to position IDDRI at the forefront of innovative thinking. The Director General must bring excellent communication skills, with fluency in both French and English, proven leadership experience, and the interpersonal skills to build and retain partnerships across a variety of stakeholders. S/he will bring a high-level international network and most importantly, will demonstrate a deep commitment to, and understanding of, international sustainable development.
