Anglia Ruskin University is passionate about transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. The institution offers an educational experience that engages, challenges and empowers students to reach their full potential, placing students at the heart and delivering a consistent experience across all our campuses and partners, thereby placing us consistently within the top quartile nationally for student experience.

Now is an exciting time to join us; in 2017, just after the 25th anniversary of our achieving university status, we launched our new strategy, setting out our vision, priorities and ambitions for the next ten years. This roadmap positions us to become a distinctive university that is entrepreneurial in nature, strongly focused on our students and fully inclusive of all who want to study, work or partner with us.

Following a recent restructure, the University has moved to four faculties containing 13 schools. The newly formed Faculty of Science and Engineering is the second largest Faculty, comprising over 5,000 students and with a growing international research profile. We now seek a Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean for this dynamic Faculty, to provide academic and strategic leadership across education, research, and employability agendas. The PVC Dean will also play an active role in the delivery of the overarching University Strategy as a member of the Corporate Management Team and lead agreed institution-wide projects.

Candidates will be creative and forward thinking, with an ability and appetite to drive positive change. We are looking for self-starters with high levels of motivation and ambition, and who will work in a collegial and strategic manner in partnership with external and internal stakeholders alike, acting as compelling ambassadors for the Faculty and University.

They will demonstrate good financial acumen to support income diversification, including thorough portfolio management, industry engagement and research leadership. Critically, they will align with our values and be passionate and resolutely committed to a transformative student experience.

Anglia Ruskin University will be supported in this appointment by executive search firm, Perrett Laver. For further details, including the job description, person specification and information on how to apply, please see quoting reference 3773. The closing date is Thursday 1st November at 5pm (GMT). The role will be based in Chelmsford or Cambridge and salary is competitive.
