Over half the world is under 30 and faces significant global challenges now and in the foreseeable future - climate change, inequality, intolerance, and threats to democracy and democratic institutions. This is a generation that is not just demanding change but driving it.
The NewNow is an independent non-profit that was inspired by The Elders and kickstarted by Virgin Unite (the entrepreneurial foundation of the Virgin Group). Bringing together some of the most remarkable rising leaders of their generation, who are drawn from a range of geographies, disciplines and capabilities, The NewNow is focused on long term, systemic change.
By 2020 we will:
— Deliver four successful global campaigns, with clear targeted outcomes and measurable impact
— Support up to 20 NewNow Leaders to expand their skills, capacity and networks to scale their impact
— Lift and champion a further 200 rising leaders and bring their work to global prominence
— Build a global movement of 500,000 progressive, passionate and active supporters
The Executive Director will be fully accountable for making this happen; starting-up and leading the organisation to deliver the vision and strategy and ensuring the long-term success and health of the organisation. The Executive Director will need to be a ‘servant leader’; the successful candidate will be able to listen to, and empathise with, The NewNow Leaders, guide and advise them, and ultimately achieve a clear mandate and direction from The NewNow Leaders to advance their agenda.
The successful candidate will bring the drive and vision to enable the creation of this new organisation and movement as well as proven leadership and team-building skills. S/he will also bring a track record of income generation and the credibility, experience and gravitas to engage a range of stakeholders.
The deadline for applications is 9am GMT Tuesday 27th November 2018.
This role location is flexible, with a preference for London or New York and the salary is competitive and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
