The University of Leicester Business School is within the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and comprises of over 160 academic staff, 4,700 students and c £40 million turnover; it makes a substantial and important contribution to the College and to the University. The School was formed on 1 August 2016 from the previous Schools of Economics and Management; the Business School is a global academy for leaders, innovators and change-makers.  The School has a track record for developing innovative and relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has established itself as one of the largest providers of distance learning programmes in the UK, teaching thousands of students from all over the world.

The School has moved to its own dedicated site to be the School of Business at Brookfield, a short walk from the main campus and with strong ties to the College and central University. The new site provides the capability to allow the school to grow and operate in attractive, stimulating surroundings.

The newly appointed Dean will work with the Business School academics, professional staff and students to develop the future priorities of the School, providing leadership, direction and management to the School, and as a member of the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities’ leadership team.

This is a high profile and pivotal appointment for the institution and an exciting prospect for an experienced academic with outstanding leadership credentials. You will be an accomplished communicator who can lead, inspire and motivate colleagues across the School and crucially you must be capable of leading change and delivering against the strategic priorities of the University. You will be committed to enhancing the student experience and improving the working environment for staff, ensuring academic excellence, in all its forms, across the School.
