Based in the dynamic and diverse city of Rotterdam, EUR positions itself as an international knowledge hub for critical thinking and academic training, driven by a strong focus on current societal issues. On the lively, modern campus, a very international student body of more than 28,000 students is constantly encouraged to develop their talents and pursue their ambitions.
Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) is a world-leading Business School with a strong international profile and outlook that wants to be a force for positive change in the world. RSM believes business is a powerful instrument for solving issues impacting society, economics and the environment. RSM aims to improve the practice of business and management through its ground-breaking research, its world-class education, and its engagement with industry and society. RSM is a competitively ranked Business School with 6,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and more than 2,600 part-time and executive education participants per year.
RSM now seeks to appoint a new Dean. With a proven successful track record as a senior leader and manager, the successful appointee will have ultimate responsibility for the School’s teaching and research activities as well as for its operational management. The Dean’s responsibility stretches beyond the Faculty: Together with the Deans from the six other Faculties and two Institutes, united in the College of Deans, the new Dean contributes to and supports interfaculty cooperation as well as the further development of the University as an organisation.
She/he will be a critical, creative, caring and collaborative leader with the ability to articulate a compelling vision and strategy for the future development of the organisation and administration of the School with regard to all teaching (including executive education) and research. Reporting directly to the Executive Board of EUR, she/he will have the experience and drive to consolidate and strengthen the School’s world-leading international reputation.
The term of a Dean appointment is four years and can be renewed. The appointment is associated with a tenured Full Professor appointment in one of the Departments at the School. The compensation package is competitive relative to European salaries and also comes with additional specific and attractive secondary terms of employment.
