TASIS The American School in England has delivered a first-class day and boarding education for over 40 years. Located a short distance from central London in Thorpe, Surrey and set on a  46-acre campus, TASIS England currently educates 615 pupils of 57 nationalities aged 3 – 18. The School is proud of its global outlook, warm community and its relentless pursuit to nurture learners who are intellectually curious, principled, open-minded and compassionate.

TASIS has entered a significant phase of its development under the leadership of Bryan Nixon who was appointed as Head in June 2017. The School has started to make a number of key strategic and operational changes to ensure that it continues to develop itself as a dynamic, thoughtful, agile and forward-looking educational institution.

The School now seeks an ambitious and solution-focused Bursar to lead its operational, financial and commercial strategy and work in partnership with the Head to implement positive and sustainable change. A proven financial and operational leader, he or she will possess the vision, resilience and stakeholder management skills to succeed in a rapidly changing environment. Decisive yet collegial in approach, the appointee should display the gravitas and emotional intelligence to inspire confidence and respect. An authentic commitment to the TASIS mission, a deep sense of personal service and a belief in the power of a global education to transform lives is essential.  Applications are encouraged from candidates with commercial, charitable, private or public-sector backgrounds.

TASIS England is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and the Board of Directors expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post.
