The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) is a global centre of excellence for training and research in bioprocessing. NIBRT is located in a world-class facility in Dublin, Ireland, which is purpose-built to closely replicate a modern bioprocessing plant with state of the art equipment. NIBRT is based on an innovative collaboration between University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University and the Institute of Technology, Sligo.

To support the expansion of expertise in Downstream Processing and Formulation, NIBRT is now seeking to appoint a new Principal Investigator in Biologics Formulation and Finishing. NIBRT has created a unique opportunity for a world-leading researcher who has the vision and drive to develop a new Research Group in this field which will complement the existing strengths of the Institute. The Principal Investigator will not only play a pivotal role in shaping the future success and strategy of NIBRT, but also in influencing the research and innovation environment of biopharmaceuticals in Ireland.

 

The successful appointee will be an internationally renowned researcher, from an academic or industry background, who is considered a global leader in their area of research. With a deep understanding of all aspects of Biopharmaceutical manufacturing research, the ideal candidate will combine excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire, innovate and influence across a range of national and international organisations and stakeholders. S/he will have a strong track record of securing external funding and a track record of building, managing and mentoring high-performing teams with proven capabilities in creative problem-solving.
