Over the last 500 years, Jesus College has grown to become one of the largest and most distinguished colleges in Cambridge. Now a diverse community of over 1,000 members, it has produced three Nobel laureates and many famous scholars, writers, scientists and public figures. Situated in the centre of Cambridge within historic buildings and extensive grounds, and with committed staff performing a wide range of roles in support of our mission, the values of academic excellence, continued learning and intellectual openness are fostered across the entire community.

Following the appointment of Professor Ian White FREng as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath, the College invites applications from exceptional candidates to fulfil the role of Master from September 2019. Candidates should possess a distinguished record of achievement and leadership in academia or another professional field. They should be committed to the further development of Jesus College as an outstanding centre of education, research and scholarship with diversity of membership at its heart.

Candidates should have the vision, charisma and interpersonal skills to lead the College community, the ability to work with the Fellowship in charting an ambitious course for the future, and the organisational insights to oversee the day-to-day running of the College. Jesus College is committed to equality and to ensuring that outstanding students from all backgrounds have access to the world-class education and opportunities that we offer. Candidates must share this commitment and our belief in the close relationship between teaching, research and scholarship.
