The University of Central Asia (UCA) is an international institution with the potential to transform the future of the region and its people. It is a private, not-for-profit, secular university with the mission to foster the socio-economic development of Central Asia, particularly its mountain societies, while helping the peoples of the region preserve and draw upon their rich cultural heritages as assets for the future. UCA seeks to contribute leadership, ideas, and innovation to the transitioning economies and communities of the region through vigorous educational and research programmes that produce skilled, knowledgeable, and creative graduates. UCA's undergraduate programmes are located at its residential campuses in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan, and Khorog, Tajikistan. The Tekeli campus in Kazakhstan is expected to start classes in 2021/2022. UCA is seeking an experienced and visionary Dean to provide academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership to the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and the University. As the chief academic administrator of UCA’s undergraduate programmes, the Dean will lead the ongoing development of the SAS by overseeing the implementation and continued betterment of UCA’s undergraduate programmes, guiding impactful research, as well as leading international accreditation, student recruitment and progression, faculty recruitment and retention. Reporting to the Rector, the Dean will work with other leaders and colleagues across the University to pursue those goals, and effectively communicate UCA’s vision and objectives to internal and external constituencies, with a focus on university partners inside and outside of Central Asia.
