Girls Not Brides is a global partnership of more than 1000 civil society organisations from over 95 countries committed to ending child marriage and enabling girls to fulfil their potential.

We share the conviction that every girl has the right to lead the life that she chooses and that, by ending child marriage, we can achieve a safer, healthier and more prosperous future for all. Stronger together, Girls Not Brides members bring child marriage to global attention, build an understanding of what it will take to end child marriage and call for the laws, policies and programmes that will make a difference in the lives of millions of girls.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to be our next Chief Executive Officer, lead the Girls Not Brides secretariat and catalyse members’ efforts to reduce and ultimately end child marriage. Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead the development of the vision, strategic plan and direction of our work. You will be a key spokesperson and ambassador for Girls Not Brides, creating and maintaining visibility of the issue, championing civil society, collective action and grassroots movements for social change. You will lead, inspire and develop the secretariat’s global leadership team and foster a positive, open and motivated organisational culture.

You will be a proven leader with a deep commitment to gender equality and children’s rights. You will bring a strong track record of senior leadership and management. You will have a collaborative approach to partnerships, finely-tuned political antennae and the experience and sensitivity to operate successfully in a variety of cultural environments.  You are able to inspire and empower others whilst maintaining a rigorous focus on operational effectiveness.  You will be a strategic thinker with strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills, nuanced judgement and stakeholder management skills to drive forward the organisation.  You will have the gravitas, ability and presence to act as an ambassador for Girls Not Brides with confidence and authority.

We are interested in looking at international candidates for this role. The role will be based in London and the salary will be competitive with market rate and negotiable depending upon experience.

The deadline for applications is 9am GMT Monday 18th March 2019.
