Are you passionate about conserving the natural world for future generations?

The World Land Trust (WLT) exists to decrease the amount of biodiverse land under imminent threat of destruction, safeguarding some of the world's most representative habitats. Since the foundation of the Trust 30 years ago, relationships have been established with partner organisations around the world to give permanent protection to wildlife and entire ecosystems, by providing funding and expertise for the purchase, protection and management of land that is home to biologically important habitats. Encouraging financial support and forging long-term partnerships with local communities, the WLT has developed a ground-breaking and enduring model for conservation, with impressive and impactful results.

After nearly 30 years developing the World Land Trust, the organisation’s founders John and Vivien Burton are retiring from their management positions. We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed individual as the Chief Executive Officer.  Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for leading the organisation forward, strengthening and communicating its vision, whilst inspiring the community to achieve even more.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an individual with genuine passion for conservation to make a positive difference for the natural environment. You will demonstrate significant experience in strategic leadership and will bring the ability to engage and motivate staff and partners. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to advocate and represent the organisation to a wide range of audiences. Inspiring, visionary and engaging, with sound commercial judgement, you will forge collaborative working relationships. Perhaps most importantly, the successful candidate will align closely with World Land Trust’s vision and be a compelling ambassador for the natural world.
