President & CEO
Global Greengrants Fund believes solutions to environmental harm and social injustice come from people whose lives are most impacted. Every day, our global network of people on the frontlines and donors comes together to support communities to protect their ways of life and our planet. Because when local people have a say in the health of their food, water, and resources, they are forces for change. Our unique model of funding utilizes small grants to local organizations and is completely trust-based and hands off, as we believe that those experiencing the impacts first-hand are most qualified to determine the best solutions to the problems they face.
Our organization is unique in our model of funding, and we are seeking a leader who will honor the system which has allowed us to provide over 12,000 grants and $84 million in 168 countries worldwide to environmental defenders.
The next President and CEO of Global Greengrants Fund will require a range of skills and experience. Above all, you must demonstrate a deep commitment to Global Greengrants’ model and our vision. You will bring extensive experience of strategic leadership and the ability to effect change, as well as a highly developed capacity to build collaboration and cooperation within and across Global Greengrants Fund and our network of advisory boards. You will have the heart of an activist and will be adept at building and maintaining relationships with our partners. You will have proven resource mobilization skills, bringing a track record of securing funding from a range of sources, including foundations. You will be a decisive, inclusive and courageous individual, with credibility, authenticity and integrity. In addition, you will possess the interpersonal and communication skills to promote Global Greengrants on a global basis with confidence and authority to all stakeholders, including our supporters, advisors, coordinators and communities, as well as other funders in the sector.
If you share our sense of urgency around building grassroots power and resiliency, we look forward to hearing from you.
