Primary Practice Group: Schools and Education Organisations
Salary & Benefits: Competitive
Closing Date: 30/05/2019
The PTI (Prince’s Teaching Institute) is one of a group of charities whose Royal Founding Patron is The Prince of Wales. We aim to improve educational provision in England and Wales through offering teachers professional support with an exclusive focus on enhancing their subject knowledge and pedagogy. We believe that all children, whatever their background or ability, are entitled to a rich subject experience, delivered by passionate and knowledgeable teachers. We re-engage teachers with their specialist subjects, enhancing their subject pedagogy and inspiring them to bring renewed enthusiasm into their classrooms.
Working in partnership with the University of Cambridge, all our courses and programmes are devised and led by experienced, practising teachers and school leaders, supported by leading academics and renowned experts. Participants forge links with other schools and create a forum to share best practice.
We seek a new Co-Director to lead on academic strategy and delivery, working with Chris Pope, the Co-Director who leads the operational and administrative work of the Institute. For a dynamic leader and ambassador, excited by the opportunity to improve educational provision, this role offers a unique opportunity to inspire teachers and change lives.
The successful candidate will be a serving school leader with a demonstrable record of nurturing staff to be passionate subject specialists. He or she will share the PTI’s commitment to subject-based rigour and excellence, and will extend the Institute’s reach and impact further. An outstanding record of success in school leadership is essential, as is experience in a range of schools. We welcome applications from candidates currently serving in either the maintained sector or the independent sector.
The Prince’s Teaching Institute is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
