Anglia Ruskin is a modern, globally engaged University that is built upon outstanding regional roots, committed to transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. This is a hugely exciting time to join us: we recently celebrated our 25th anniversary of achieving University status and launched our new strategy, Designing our Future, which draws on the breadth of ARU’s strengths to maximise our impact.

We are now seeking to appoint a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) who will work collaboratively with academic colleagues, business and industry to significantly develop the impact of our research – regionally and internationally. Twelve of our research areas were identified as producing world-leading research in the last REF, and our reputation for outstanding research and innovation continues to build.  This role presents an unrivalled opportunity to make a difference to the social, cultural and economic well-being of the communities we serve, and to further enrich the outstanding educational experience we offer to our students. Beyond the Research and Innovation portfolio, the successful candidate will be a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Group and as such a key contributor to the strategic leadership, management and decision making of the University as a whole.

Candidates will be visionary and forward thinking, with an ability to inspire colleagues. We’re looking for self-starters with high levels of motivation and ambition, who will work collaboratively and in a strategic manner in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. They will be able to act as compelling ambassadors for the University and will be strongly aligned with our values, including a commitment to inclusion and widening participation and the transformative potential of applied research..
