We are now seeking to appoint a visionary, dynamic and ambitious Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education (ACE). As senior adviser to the Pro Vice- Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty, Professor Jane Roscoe, this is an exciting and substantial senior leadership role. The successful candidate will play an important role in continuing the transformation of the Faculty, delivering the strategic plan and driving a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. There is much to celebrate within the Faculty, particularly its unique mix of disciplines brought to life through a student-centred and inclusive learning environment, interconnected with impactful research and creative partnerships with industry. Indeed, the award-winning and industry-standard Digital Media Studios was recently opened at the Bower Ashton site, offering students access to the very latest film production, animation and photography facilities and technology. It is within this context that staff and students thrive, receiving a well-rounded education and student experience that leaves them well positioned for the competitive, global and future workplace.

Responsible for the strategic overview of the Faculty’s business development, finance and HR resources, and internal and external planning, we are looking for an experienced senior manager with proven leadership skills and a strong track record of academic achievement. An individual who exhibits a strong work ethic, inspires others and is motivated to create sustainable change. Engaged in research and connected with industry, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective performance and resource management skills combined with relevant professional practice experience. An understanding and enthusiasm for all disciplines represented across the Faculty is vital, promoting the delivery of high quality teaching, research and external partnerships.

This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the Faculty, working across the vibrant City Campus - UWE Bristol’s creative and cultural industries campus made up of sites at Bower Ashton, Spike Island, Arnolfini and Watershed.

The deadline for applications is noon BST on Friday 7 June 2019.
