China Education Development (Investment & Management) Co. Limited (CED) is an education management and development institution with a vision; CED believes global humanistic education is to nurture students through the content and process of education to achieve an inner transformation so that they become talents with multicultural essence, and fully develop their mind and body, skills and values while laying a foundation of lifelong learning to cope with the various challenges of the international environment in the 21st century.

CED was founded in 2010 by Professor Paul Yip Kwok-wah, a prominent figure in Hong Kong, and renowned educator Dr Betty Chan Po-king, who created a unified pedagogy in response to the development and prospect of global politics, economy, culture, society and technology, and based on the experience of the schools under its umbrella in providing quality education for 85 years. As a result, CED provides a comprehensive international education to students and aims to create ‘B to B’ (Baby to Bachelor) through-train education to meet the demand for education in the new era.

The Role

CED is now seeking its next Chief Talent Officer whose responsibilities will cover the Company’s Hong Kong, Greater China and the United States efforts. The Chief Talent Officer will report to the Chief Executive of the Company and be a member of the Executive board of the Yew Chung and Yew Wah group of schools and kindergartens. 

CED will serve as a Cultural Ambassador to articulate Yew Chung and Yew Wah’s passion, value and vision;

Create a positive, fair and transparent talent recruitment and acquisition platform to attract more talents to join the Yew Chung and Yew Wah family to achieve their mission;
Build a positive and healthy Yew Chung and Yew Wah cultural environment to support employee’s development both professionally and personally;
Formulate and drive the overall HR strategy to support the objectives and growth of the organization. Meanwhile, maintain a closely tied Yew Chung and Yew Wah community culture and strong internal staff relations; 
Design, review, implement and monitor organization-wide HR operational systems, processes and procedures, including the HR Information System;
Ensure and monitor legal and regulatory compliance pertaining to labor relations, particularly in Mainland China, including personal handling of cases when necessary;
Monitor and report on C&B competitiveness and work with the Executive Board and School Leadership Teams to plan and implement C&B changes;
Work closely with and support other corporate and school-based leadership to recruit talented and dedicated non-teaching staff;
Work closely with and support the Teacher Recruitment Team, both locally and internationally;
Regular review and updating of Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Provide positive support and advice to improve staff performance. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate for the CTO role should meet the following criteria:

Great passion for education
Rich experience in building internal culture, policy and system in large scaled organization
Strong background in talent recruitment, human resource management and professional development
Work experience in and/or connection to both Hong Kong and Mainland China
Good understanding of Human Resource policies and regulations in both Hong Kong and Mainland China
Fluency in English and Chinese (preferably both Cantonese and Mandarin)
