Aston University has developed a bold and UK-leading strategy, putting beneficiaries at the heart of all its operations. We define our beneficiaries as those who the University exists to serve; students, external organisations, and our region and society. As an institution our mission is clear: to be the UK’s leading university for students aspiring to succeed in business and the professions, where original research, enterprise and inspiring teaching deliver local and global impact.

Everything we do at Aston is focused around impacting upon our city, our region and our society. We believe that people create change, and we want to educate and inspire the generations that will change the world around us.

For the first time, we are seeking a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Engagement) who will be instrumental in the implementation of our new strategy, leading on the engagement with our beneficiaries. The post holder will have direct responsibility for Aston’s demand-led services; student recruitment and engagement, international development, business engagement, regional and civic engagement, and development and alumni engagement; ensuring that enabling services are agile, customer-centric and maximise beneficiary satisfaction.

To deliver on this ambitious strategy we are seeking a visionary, inspirational and influential leader; someone with significant Executive level leadership and a proven track record for driving performance. A compelling ambassador for Aston, a leader deeply committed to our values including a commitment to inclusion and widening participation and the transformative impact of industry engaged education.
