The European Society of Endodontology (ESE) is a non-profit federal organisation with global reach and impact focused on the broad field of Endodontology, the branch of dental sciences dealing with health, injuries to and diseases of the dental pulp (the ‘living centre’ of the tooth) and periradicular region (around the root tip), and their relationship with general health and wellbeing. The Society exists to promote the development of Endodontology to benefit society, patients, Endodontists, General Dentists, Educators, Researchers and those in training, as well as to represent Endodontology and Endodontists within Europe. The ESE is a vibrant and dynamic organisation consisting of 36 member-societies spanning across 33 European countries and represents over 7500 ordinary members and over 500 individual specialist, certified, guest, dental nurse and postgraduate student members.
The ESE seeks to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support the Executive Board and ensure the Society’s mission, aims, objectives and strategic goals are achieved. Reporting directly to the Executive Board and working in partnership with the Society’s Administrator, the COO shall take overall responsibility for implementing and integrating the strategic direction of the Society, managing the day-to-day finances and activities of the Society on behalf of the Treasurer and Executive Board and in collaboration with the Administrator, and evaluating the success of the Society in reaching its goals.
The COO will oversee the operational processes of the Society and will ensure progression as well as an excellent member experience. The COO will assist in compiling the budget and financial reports of the Society and control financial policies and procedures. Candidates should have a clear understanding of the Society’s mission, vision and core values as well as considerable initiative to develop the society further.

Due to the remote working nature of this role, the location is flexible.
Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver in August. Formal interviews with the ESE will take place on Saturday 14th September 2019 in Vienna, Austria.
