The role of Pro Vice-Chancellor - Learning and Teaching (PVC L&T) is a new appointment, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor and is a member of the Executive Group. Aligning with the overarching University strategy, the new PVC L&T will take ownership of the overall strategy for learning and teaching across BCU and translate this into operational excellence.  With responsibility for the nominated Departments in the University’s Student and Academic Services Provision, the new PVC L&T will work closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), academic and professional services colleagues to develop an innovative approach to inclusive pedagogic practice, encouraging experimentation and enhancing the student academic experience, preparing students for graduate employment or further study. 

Candidates will have:

Significant relevant experience of working in a senior leadership role in Higher Education
A strong personal academic track record,
A broad understanding of the differing needs and modes of education across disciplines
A thorough appreciation of methods of education delivery including on-line, and the criticality of the student experience
Familiarity with the impact of digital media and technologies
Demonstrable leadership experience and management of heading teams - including both academic and professional services staff
Comfortable with complexity, whilst delivering successful change programmes leading to performance improvements.
