Focusing on the first of these groups, we are now seeking to appoint, for the first time, a Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students) who will be the institutional lead on student engagement, student recruitment, wellbeing, inclusion, student employability, and wider student communications. Working closely with senior academic and professional services colleagues, the PVC (Students) will provide strategic advice and leadership on how to enhance services for, and engagement with, Aston’s students, enabled through a high quality digital student experience. This role will report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Engagement) but will work closely with the PVC (Education) who is line managed by the Provost. They will also work alongside the PVC International to ensure that the end-to-end student journey is aligned to the needs of students coming to the University from across the world.
The PVC (Students) will be a strategic, service-oriented individual with a comprehensive understanding of student experience strategy, policy and practice in the UK higher education sector. This new position requires an inspiring leader, with an ability to drive high performance, who is passionate about the difference that education makes.
