Join us to beat heartbreak forever

One of the UK’s largest and best-known charities, the British Heart Foundation funds over £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them.  Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. We raise money to research cures and treatments, so we can beat heartbreak forever.

We are currently seeking an inspirational Chief Executive to build on our strong platform, drive our strategy and accelerate progress towards our vision. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, as Chief Executive you will lead with intelligence, build pioneering partnerships, harness innovation and technology, and inspire action. You will give major focus to income generation to support the strategy and have the credibility to be a compelling spokesperson and advocate for the BHF continuing to build the reputation of the organisation as a world leading medical research charity. You will continue to grow and expand the profile of the BHF as an employer of choice for both employees and volunteers and as a voice for patients and supporters.

The BHF wishes to encourage applications from senior leaders drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. You will be an experienced people leader with the strategic vision and drive to ensure a forward looking and ambitious agenda, bringing significant experience of leading large, complex organisations and an ability to deliver transformational organisational change. You will be entrepreneurial, authentic, adaptable and action orientated. You will have excellent communication and ambassadorial skills as well as the ability to build strong relationships across a complex range of stakeholders. Perhaps most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for the cause, personal integrity, a commitment to diversity and positive leadership.

If you are motivated to help to us achieve our vision, please apply.

The closing date for applications is 9am BST on Wednesday 4th September 2019.

The BHF is also proud that we are working towards being a truly diverse organisation.  Our growing commitment to equality and diversity spans across our charity and we pride ourselves in being an inclusive employer who puts diversity at the heart of everything that we do.
