The Directorate of External Relations at York is undergoing an exciting restructure, in which three strategic roles have been developed to support the Director of External Relations: the Director of Recruitment, Marketing, Admissions and Outreach; the Director of International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility, and the Director of Communications

As part of this restructure we are seeking a new Director of Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO) to join our team. The new Director of MRAO will provide overall strategic leadership and accountability for the University's home/EU student recruitment; admissions; and driving the Access and Widening Participation agenda for the University. The position will play a significant role in developing strategies that enable the University of York to help shape our future student population by attracting and retaining the best students, regardless of their background. New strategic approaches to access and widening participation, lifelong learning, schools engagement and engagement with relevant professional alumni networks will be developed as part of an expansive and integrated outreach programme.

The successful candidates will have the ability to lead across the institution and engage with strategy setting and implementation, with experience of working collaboratively to develop ambitious strategies and of building and leading teams to deliver them. This role will be fundamental in translating strategies into an innovative and effective service, ensuring that the Directorate supports York’s academics in achieving our strategic ambitions.
