The Directorate of External Relations at York is undergoing an exciting restructure, in which three strategic roles have been developed to work closely together and support the Director of External Relations: the Director of Recruitment, Marketing, Admissions and Outreach; the Director of Communications; and the Director of International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility.

The Director of International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive international growth strategy for the University, working closely with the Director of External Relations and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who has strategic oversight and responsibility for the University’s International Strategy.

This role calls for a commercially minded, creative and inspiring leader to develop and oversee the strategy and lead an implementation team (with a budget of over £2.4m) to deliver a substantial growth in overseas recruitment, enhance institutional global partnerships and networks, develop and enhance trans-national educational opportunities, and expand its portfolio of student mobility programmes and other international commercial opportunities for educational business development. A focus on outcomes and solutions, with a nuanced understanding of the diverse needs of students - international students in particular - is imperative, as is a proven ability to establish effective partnerships in support of delivering our ambitions. As such, the appointment of an experienced, innovative and strategic Director to create and convert international opportunities is a critically important one. We also seek an individual with a passion for higher education and its transformative impact on student’s lives, reflecting York’s values and founding principles.

The Director of International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility will be a valued member of the External Relations Senior Management team (ERSMT) and will work collaboratively with other members of the ERSMT, to establish and advance the strategic priorities of the University.
