Shell Foundation - Appointment of Global Head of Programmes (4270)

Tackling Global Development Challenges with Business Solutions

Shell Foundation applies entrepreneurial thinking to create new ways to deliver social and environmental change and economic growth in low-income areas of the world.

We create and scale business solutions to two major global development challenges: access to energy and sustainable mobility. Our geographical focus is on Africa and Asia, where issues such as access to energy and mobility are major obstacles to sustainable development. By working with strategic partners, Shell Foundation acts like an investor, providing business support and sharing risk, alongside funding, to create valuable social impact and financial sustainability.

We are seeking an exceptional strategic business leader to join our senior management team in this newly created post of Global Head of Programmes. Reporting to the Director of Shell Foundation, this role offers a unique development opportunity for a high-potential individual to work across a wide variety of businesses in emerging markets and to deliver extraordinary social and environmental impact.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a strong track record of managing, coaching and mentoring high-performing teams. You will have the ability to work at both the strategic and operational levels and possess strong communication skills. You will bring a depth of understanding of the business environment in emerging economies, and the experience and knowledge to create and scale businesses. Perhaps most importantly, you will be passionate about our work and align with our mission and values.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 4th September at 9 AM GMT .

The role is based in London with regular travel to markets. The salary is competitive and commensurate with the experience required.
