Vice-Chancellor and President

The University of Queensland has commenced a comprehensive global search for its next Vice-Chancellor and President to succeed Professor Peter Høj AC, who will retire in 2020 after serving for 8 years as leader.
Ranked in the world's top 50, The University of Queensland is one of Australia's leading research and teaching institutions, playing a critical part in shaping Australia’s future and contributing to the global exchange of knowledge through the pursuit of academic excellence. With a commitment to forging partnerships across sectors and national boundaries, we have a distinguished history of global contributions to research and innovation as well as in developing outstanding and inspiring graduates.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the University in its next chapter. Building on a track record of operating within large and complex organisations, the new Vice-Chancellor and President will need to be an agile, inspirational and visionary leader with the ability to grasp the future of the higher education landscape.
The successful candidate will bring the gravitas and reputation to facilitate strong external relationships with key partners and government, underpinning the University’s standing as a world leading institution and a catalyst for national and state economic and social development. They will also be a role model for the values of the University as well as act as a mentor to aspiring leaders within the institution, further developing the leadership team and continuing to build a culture of inclusion, diversity and equity for staff and students.

The deadline for applications is midday AEST on 06 September 2019.
