We are passionate about transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. Our institution offers an educational experience that engages, challenges and empowers students to reach their full potential, placing students at the heart of everything we do, and delivering a consistent experience across all our campuses and partners.
Now is an exciting time to join us; having celebrated our 25th anniversary of achieving university status, we are looking ahead to the next decade and have devised a compelling strategy that offers a clear roadmap for the future. Setting out our vision, priorities and ambitions for the next ten years, our strategy, published in 2017, positions us to become a distinctive university that is entrepreneurial in nature, strongly focussed on our students and fully inclusive of all who want to study, work or partner with us.
Following a recent restructure, the University has moved to four faculties containing 13 schools. Our newly formed Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care is the largest of these faculties; with 400 staff serving nearly 5,000 students, it also includes our new School of Medicine. All our courses are designed with students at their heart and are taught by our award-winning academics, with the benefit of high-end facilities which mirror real-life working environments. Through our research institutes, centres and groups we deliver high quality, interdisciplinary and cross-university research which makes a real difference to everyday lives, translated in to practice with the support of strong external partners.
We now seek a Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean for this dynamic Faculty, to provide academic and strategic leadership across education, research, and external engagement agendas. The PVC & Dean will also play an active role in the delivery of the overarching University Strategy as a member of the Corporate Management Team and lead agreed institution-wide projects.
Candidates will have exceptional management acumen and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to lead effectively across a wide range of disciplines and functions. Bringing a collegial leadership style, they will also be a compelling ambassador for the Faculty and University with proven partnership management and development skills. They will demonstrate good financial acumen to support income diversification, including thorough student recruitment, industry engagement and research leadership. Critically, they will align with our values and be passionate about and resolutely committed to a transformative student experience.
