Reporting to the OI Executive Director, the Director of Public Engagement will lead a team of over 40 people and will drive Oxfam International’s Public Engagement strategy as well as realize the added value that the Secretariat can deliver for Oxfam across income generation, global communications, and private sector engagement. You will ensure internal coherence across a complex, global network striving to be a leader in the movement for global economic and social justice. In addition, as part of the Oxfam International Management Team, you will provide coherent, networked senior leadership to the Secretariat and the confederation on Public Engagement issues.

Oxfam is currently implementing a new vision, that has necessitated a significant organizational change, transforming how our staff and volunteers devise, deliver and support programs within countries and regions. A huge component of this change has been a focus on increasing global balance and diversity and a shift of line management of country, regional and humanitarian programs to Oxfam International. This has seen the beginning of a truly globally balanced Confederation, with the new Global Headquarters of Oxfam International now based in Nairobi, Kenya.

This role is preferably located in Nairobi or in an Oxfam office location in the Global South (where a contract of employment can be established). The salary is in line with Oxfam values and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
