Arcadia Fund

Appointment of Chief Executive

“Once memories, knowledge, skills, variety, and intricacy disappear – once the old complexities are lost – they are hard to replicate or replace. Arcadia aims to return to people both their memories and their natural surroundings.” Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, Donor Board

Founded by Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, Arcadia Fund supports charities and scholarly institutions to preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment, and promote open access. One of the largest private foundations in the UK, since 2002 Arcadia Fund has awarded more than $660 million in grants to projects around the world.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Chief Executive to lead the Fund as we grow our grant-making. Reporting to the Donor Board, the Chief Executive will be responsible for translating their vision into clear strategic aims and practical organisational plans. They will ensure excellence in relationship management, reporting and accountability as well as oversight of Arcadia’s budget.

This is an opportunity for a wise and mature leader who will give wide range to Arcadia’s brilliant young team through supporting them and helping them deliver the Fund’s vision. Building a strong personal relationship with the Donor Board, trustees and advisory board is also key, requiring a Chief Executive with senior management, negotiating and diplomatic skills and an ability to deliver through others. This is a role for someone who will be a universally respected representative of Arcadia, enabling the fund to increase its influence and voice.

Arcadia Fund values diversity and encourages individuals of underrepresented backgrounds, including but not limited to gender, race, age, religion, and sexual orientation, to apply for this role.

The position is located in London, United Kingdom and the salary is competitive and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
