Inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy

JA Europe is Europe’s largest provider of education programmes for entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy, dedicated to preparing young people for employment and success. A member of JA Worldwide® that for 100 years has delivered hands-on learning in entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy, JA Europe works across the public and private sectors to provide primary, secondary and university education programmes and create pathways for employability, job creation and financial success in the increasingly global economy.

Last school year, the JA network in Europe reached more than 4 million young people across 40 countries with the support of 140,000 business volunteers and 130,000 educators.

Following in the footsteps of its founding CEO, Caroline Jenner, JA Europe is now looking for a dynamic and strategic CEO who can bring the organisation to the next level, working together with its 41 member organisations to achieve ambitious goals for growth and impact; to embrace digital transformation; to deepen partnerships with both the public and private sector; and to continue to elevate its reputation and positioning with business leaders, educators and policymakers.

The CEO will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to achieve JA Europe’s mission, enhancing JA Europe’s impact in an evolving and fast-paced market. S/he will lead, serve, support and represent JA member nations in Europe, support the ambitious executive team, secure new funding, and grow JA Europe’s reach and reputation. Reporting to a high-level Board, the CEO will be a key member of the JA Worldwide Senior Leadership Team, as one of six regional leaders.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative self-starter and will bring existing knowledge and networks in entrepreneurship, and a track record of strategic leadership experience gained across public, private and non-profit sectors or membership associations. S/he will bring experience of engaging in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, a track record of business development, excellent communication skills as well as significant experience working broadly across Europe and beyond. S/he champions digital transformation and the change management that goes with it. Most important, the next CEO will demonstrate a passion and commitment to equip young people with skills for life.

The CEO position is a full-time position, based in Brussels with a degree of flexibility. There will be regular travel across Europe.
