Primary Practice Group: Schools and Education Organisations
Salary & Benefits: Competitive
Closing Date: 14/11/2019
With its 130-year history as a pioneer in educating women, The Abbey combines impressive existing strengths with bold ambitions. The Junior School has flourished under the highly successful leadership of Nicola Dick-Cleland, who is retiring from Headship in July 2020, and is now poised to embark on the next phase in its evolution.
The Governing Council seeks a strategic, charismatic and innovative leader to take The Junior School forward, both in its own right and as part of The Abbey. This is an unusual opportunity to lead a school in which learning truly lies at the heart of decision-making, where challenge is embraced and where a relaxed and informal style co-exists with high expectations. This is an exciting time to join The Abbey and the appointed candidate will work closely with the new whole school Head, to lead the school forward with confidence and ambition.
Energetic, brave and authentic, the successful candidate will possess the drive and strategic skills to promote the School’s profile on a local, national and international stage. Internally, the Head will motivate and develop a talented and committed staffroom and take their place as a member of the Whole School Executive Board.
The Abbey is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
