Charles Darwin University

Appointment of Provost and Vice-President

Charles Darwin University (CDU) is an energetic and dynamic university committed to quality education, outstanding research and international engagement. CDU is based in the capital city of Darwin at the heart of Australia's tropical north. It is the Australian university located most closely to the Asia-Pacific region. Connect Discover Grow is a plan that establishes CDU as a new world university – outward looking, regionally engaged, developing strong Indigenous leadership, and delivering transformative skills and learning, and high-impact research when and where they are needed.

At Charles Darwin University we have a passion and a vision to use our skills and knowledge to help shape a brighter future. CDU has all the advantages of a dual-sector university including flexibility in study options – as a recognised leader in online education – creativity, adaptability and freedom to embrace the history and traditions of First Australians and the multitude of nations represented by our international student population.

CDU is now seeking to appoint a new Provost and Vice-President to succeed Professor Sue Carthew. With an opportunity to build upon an exceptional platform, the post-holder will provide leadership for the University’s academic performance and agenda across the university and improve CDU’s academic outcomes and standing as an excellent research intensive global university.

S/he will demonstrate complex leadership experience in guiding academic affairs and in advancing institutional excellence in a global competitive landscape. An innovative, visionary and dynamic individual capable of inspiring minds of the highest calibre, the future incumbent will bring an outstanding personal record of achievement in academia and research and a real commitment to develop an environment that allows talent to develop and thrive.
