Appointment of Senior Advisor, Monitoring, Evalulation and Learning
Aiming to achieve clean air for all, accelerate decarbonisation and improve human health.
The Clean Air Fund is a new philanthropic foundation aimed at reducing air pollution, and in doing so improving people’s health and simultaneously mitigating climate change.
Launched at the UN Secretary General’s Climate Summit and with $50m raised to date, the Clean Air Fund makes grants to a variety of interventions to reduce air pollution – including monitoring the state of the air, developing policies for clean energy and transport, mobilising the public and supporting communications campaigns. It is well funded by a partnership of leading foundations with interests across health, climate, children and mobility, and brings these and other organisations together to share learnings and connect people, to ensure the best solutions are rapidly scaled up and replicated.
We are now seeking an exceptional individual to join a new and rapidly growing team as its Senior Advisor, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) at a critically exciting moment for the Fund and the field. This role offers a unique opportunity for a high-potential individual to lead the development of the evaluation and learning strategy, as well as monitor and evaluate Clean Air Fund programmes to inform decision-making and uphold accountability.
The Senior Advisor for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning will support the organisation to capture, analyse, share and use what we learn about effective air quality improvement programmes and how to scale them, in a clear and compelling way. You will work closely with the team, funder and partner stakeholders to ensure these learnings are shared and used widely in the field.
The successful candidate will have expertise in interpreting, communicating and leveraging evidence and evaluation findings to inform both strategic and real-time operational decision-making. S/he will bring a proven track record in MEL for international programmes, with a particular focus on advocacy-related programmes, and notable experience in commissioning and managing evaluations and related consultancies. Knowledge of air quality, health or climate change is not essential but desirable. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be passionate about our work and aligned with our mission and values.
