Consisting of a dynamic and international team of 12, Perrett Laver Amsterdam is the operational bases from where we grow our client base on continental Europe. We support institutions internationally to find leaders with the potential to change the world and shape our future. We currently collaborate with all Dutch Universities, a growing number of universities in Scandinavia and Germany, Austria and Switzerland on leadership roles. Besides that, we are market leaders in respect of searches at professorial level in the academic sector. Other sectors we focus on at the moment are executive leadership roles in Research and Technology Organizations like TNO and Business schools like HEC, TIAS and RSM. In addition, we work with important partners in the Arts and culture sector (Van Gogh Museum and the Mauritshuis) and we build on a strong UK track record for many not-for-profit foundations established on the continent like the IKEA Foundation, HIVOS and the Lego Foundation.

Research Associate

By combining the intellectual and analytical skills necessary to grasp a complex brief and the research skills to identify world-leading candidates for leadership roles, the Research Associate is fundamental to our business. As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for developing a search strategy in order to find the right candidate for the right position. You will provide positive candidate experiences trough your contact with them and your responsive and proactive attitude. Flexible, rigorous and attracted to complexity, you will have the advocacy skills to engage senior leaders and world-leading professors over the phone.

You will work under your own initiative in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistently excellent results. Working at Perrett Laver you will be part of a strong, global network of colleagues who inspire and encourage as you develop in the role, while making a real difference to our client institutions.

  • Masters or PhD degree;
  • A convincing interest in the Higher Education sector and sectors with a social impact;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Sharp and rigorous analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Tenacious and committed with strong personal values;
  • Strong inter-personal skills both over the phone and face-to-face;
  • Excellent command of English;
  • Good command of Dutch.


  • Previous work experience;
  • Team-player;
  • Fluency in German, Swedish or another language.
