The Whitgift Foundation, known as John Whitgift Foundation, is the charity of and for Croydon.  As one of the largest bursary providers in the country, the Foundation grants thousands of young people access to an outstanding education at its three independent schools – Old Palace, Trinity and Whitgift – that many could not otherwise afford.  It also operates three care homes and other care services seeking to give older people in the Borough a true sense of community, comfort and joy in later life.

The Foundation’s Court of Governors now seek an energetic and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer to drive the commercial strategy for the organisation’s future with the Chief Executive, Martin Corney.  This person will also ensure that the Foundation’s finances and financial systems anticipate and support its ambitious growth plans and charitable mission. S/he will have intellectual curiosity, excellent communication and organisational skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding stakeholder relationships. Proven experience in leading and developing a high performing finance team is essential, as is a genuine resonance with the distinguished charitable history and ongoing mission of the Foundation.  The Foundation welcomes applications from financial leaders with commercial and charitable backgrounds outwith the education and care sectors.
