Bedford School is an HMC independent day and boarding school for boys aged 7 to 18, offering an ambitious academic and co-curricular education focused on nurturing every aspect of its pupils’ lives. Part of the Harpur Trust, one of the UK’s largest charities, and occupying an inspiring 50-acre site in Bedford, the School enables its boys to fulfil their academic and personal potential, supporting them in becoming responsible, confident and independent young men.

The Governors seek an outstanding Director of Finance and Operations to provide strong strategic financial and operational leadership and be a proactive contributor to the wider direction of the School in the next exciting phase of its development. He or she will ensure the efficient and imaginative delivery of the School’s support services in advancing its educational aims, partnering strategically with the Head Master and Governors to ensure the School’s continued success.

The successful candidate will be a visible, proactive and charismatic leader, offering a strong track record of successful operational leadership and management experience as well as  excellent strategic and communication skills.  He or she will have a strong personal ethos of service to others and a commitment to developing people.
