Colchester High School is a delightful, non-selective, co-educational independent school for pupils aged 3 to 16 situated  in a row of town houses in the centre of Colchester Town. As part of Cognita, one of the largest global school groups, we offer a seamless educational journey from nursery through to GCSE, helping our pupils exceed their own expectations.

We seek an experienced, forward-looking and ambitious educational leader to take the school into the next stage of its development.

Our new Head will come with a track record of highly successful senior leadership experience gained as a Head or Deputy Head, with established credibility for academic and other achievements in your current position.  You will have a deep-rooted understanding of, and passion for, educational excellence; the ability to inspire pupils and staff alike and hold a strong vision for the future of the school.

Outward facing, you will be able to make strong and effective relationships and possess the strategic, ambassadorial and commercial skills to position Colchester High School as the school of choice for parents seeking an independent education for their children in the area.

The headship at Colchester High School is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for making a difference to children’s lives to do exactly that.   We welcome applicants from the academy and state sectors and independent schools.

“Cognita Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.  Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.”
