The headship of St. George’s School is one of the most exciting and rewarding leadership roles in boys’ education. One of Canada’s pre-eminent boys’ schools, St. George’s is a world-class, values-led community committed to developing character and ‘Building Fine Young Men, One Boy At A Time’. Established in 1930 and set on two beautiful campuses in Vancouver, Canada, St. George’s provides an exceptional university preparatory education for 1,060 day students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, and 110 Grade 8-12 boarders from 17 countries around the world. This will be augmented by a newly established Kindergarten in autumn 2020.

The Board of Directors now seeks an inspirational Head to succeed Dr. Tom Matthews who will retire after ten years of outstanding service to St. George’s.  His successor will inherit a thriving community which looks to its future with confidence, excitement and ambition. The new Head will develop a dynamic strategic plan, building on the School’s considerable strengths, and will deliver a $100 million campus which includes state-of-the-art new Senior School buildings that will transform St. George’s for future generations. This is an exceptional opportunity to enhance Canada’s unique role in today’s world by shaping the future, and advancing the strength, of St. George’s as a leader in boys’ education in Canada and beyond.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding educator with the clarity of vision, strategic skills and academic experience to lead St. George’s into an exciting new chapter. A collaborative leader, the new Head will empower a high performing leadership team and inspire faculty, students, parents and alumni in the continued pursuit of excellence.  The Head will shape the School’s strategy for at least the next 10 years, steward its strong culture and develop the educational environment that will cultivate future local and global leaders.
