Haileybury is one of the UK’s pre-eminent independent schools offering a contemporary and well-rounded boarding and day education for boys and girls aged 11 to 18.  Under the leadership of Martin Collier, who was appointed as Master in September 2017, the School is about to embark on an exciting new chapter in its history and is looking to the future with ambition.

The School seeks an outstanding Director of Development with the fundraising expertise, leadership and organisational capabilities, energy and drive to help ensure that Haileybury is able to deliver its educational vision now and in the future.  Reporting directly to the Master and working closely with the Bursar and a committed Development Board, the new Director of Development will build a development function capable of delivering a bold capital campaign programme over a number of years and supporting the provision of transformational education for pupils across the Haileybury community.

The appointee will combine a track record of success in major gift fundraising with experience of leading a development function for a similarly ambitious organisation.  A highly motivated self-starter, he or she will offer first rate strategic awareness, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to promote Haileybury’s vision persuasively in engagement with major donors and prospects.

Haileybury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
