Founded in 1326 as the first Oxbridge College to provide for a Master, Fellows and Scholars in a single community, Clare College is a vibrant and diverse community of circa 850 members, situated at the heart of Cambridge.

The College is committed to its sense of community and collaboration which enables it to pursue academic excellence in all of its forms. It is an exciting moment for the College, as it prepares to celebrate its 700th Anniversary in 2026, and its 50th year of admitting women in 2022.

Following the tenure of Lord Grabiner, the College invites applications from outstanding candidates to fulfil the role of Master from autumn 2021. Candidates should possess an eminent record of leadership and achievement in their field.

They should be dedicated to furthering the College’s aims and ideals, and supporting the highest level of research and education. Candidates should have the ability to lead Clare College with vision and ambition, charting a successful way forward, and the operational acuity to oversee the running of the College.
