Shine Campaign (4580) | Appointment of Director
850 million people still live without access to electricity. Will you join us to change that by 2030?
The Shine Campaign is building a growing community of foundations, faith-based groups and NGOs dedicated to accelerating and increasing investment and funding for access to safe, clean, reliable and affordable energy for all, bringing clean and affordable energy to remote areas for cooking and lighting homes, clinics, schools and businesses. The campaign emphasises solutions that build local capacities, seeking to support solutions to a global problem at the local level.
Shine is seeking a strategic visionary to work with our team and partners and to recruit new partners to actualise our vital mission. Reporting to Shine’s Executive Committee and collaborating with its expert Steering Committee, the Director will be an effective campaigner, with a nuanced appreciation of how to bring together actors from the faith, development, and philanthropic sectors to mobilise new forms of capital, scale resources, and generate momentum to achieve universal access to clean, affordable, and reliable energy by 2030 – one of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Director is also responsible for the day-to-day management and activities of the campaign, its operations and staff.
We are seeking candidates who are creative visionaries as well as being pragmatic and results-oriented. The successful candidate will be a strong external representative for Shine Campaign, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others to increase and direct investments, grants, and related programs. We have a strong preference for approaches to energy access that prioritize the involvement and leadership of local communities. If you are passionate about the mission of ending energy poverty by 2030 and bring the leadership experience and skills to build momentum for the Shine campaign, we look forward to hearing from you.
