To support this journey, the University is now seeking to appoint an Executive Dean and Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS).
Staff within the Faculty are well respected, both nationally and internationally, throughout academia and industry. Interdisciplinary strengths allow the Faculty to constantly explore new opportunities to cross boundaries, and consistent investment has built up an impressive infrastructure that further supports this endeavour whilst offering a truly world-class learning environment.
The Executive Dean and Pro Vice-Chancellor will direct the work of their Faculty, fundamentally driving forward the delivery of excellence through innovative and entrepreneurial approaches. Reporting to the University’s Provost, and a member of the University Executive Board, the postholder will provide influential, strategic and operational guidance to the Faculty. Leading by both personal example and relationships, they will strive to ensure that excellence permeates all activity within the Faculty, whilst contributing to pan-university activities defined by the broader strategic objectives set by the Executive Board. A pioneering leader, s/he will possess strong academic credentials in a relevant discipline; have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; and will be able to identify, develop and deliver strategies that will enhance the Faculty’s positioning and impact, ensuring that these strategies are embedded within the University strategy and vision.
