Creating partnerships. Transforming health.

Options Consultancy Services Limited is a leading global health consultancy established in 1992 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Marie Stopes International. We manage health programmes that ensure vulnerable women and children can access the high-quality health services they need. We work with partners to co-create and implement locally informed solutions to complex health problems. This includes governments, development partners, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil society and health workers. Our programming is flexible, evidence-based and politically informed. This means we adapt to changing contexts and use data to inform our decisions and ensure our approach is appropriate. Our focus is always on building local skills and systems that last.

For more than two decades, Options has supported the Government of Nepal to improve its health services. We seek to build a resilient health system that delivers quality health services, ensuring that no-one is left behind. The programme provides responsive and technical support to the Ministry of Health and Population and will be moving to provide technical assistance and build capacity at sub-national level in response to the government’s transition to federalism. This will include technical support to provincial and municipality governments.

The programme is managed by four core partners: Options, as consortium lead, HERD International and Oxford Policy Management. Options employs a ‘One Team’ approach that ensures that each partner contributes to the planning and delivery of the programme, with a shared focus on achieving results for DFID and Government of Nepal (GoN) over the next three years.

The programme is comprised of three thematic areas: coverage and quality (C&Q); data for decision-making (D4D); and leadership and governance (L&G). Two cross-cutting workstreams, health infrastructure (HI) and gender equity and social inclusion (GESI), will support across all three thematic areas and at each level of government.

The role

We are seeking a collaborative, results-oriented proactive individual to be our next Nepal Team Leader. You will provide inspirational, strategic, technical and managerial oversight of the programme to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of a high-quality programme that produces results. As the representative of Options in Nepal, you will lead a range of high-level stakeholder engagement with partners, donors and the government.

Experience required

Significant and proven experience working in international development at a senior programme management level
Extensive experience in developing and implementing programmes within the health sector
Excellent record of leadership, people and team management, including distance management experience
Extensive experience of managing large, complex programmes and budgets
