Passionate about people and planet?
The natural world has experienced unprecedented disruption in recent years. And its people, as well as the environment, that suffer as a result. For nearly 50 years, we’ve been dedicated to the protection of the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it.
We stand with anyone who cares about the world we live in. Working together with local groups and communities, we push for change around the issues and causes that matter – protecting people’s homes, neighbourhoods and local environment, promoting safe and healthy food and water, and supporting solutions that can deal with the climate crisis and change the world for the better, for everyone. We’re here every step of the way, supporting communities, defending human rights, protecting nature, moving mountains. Combining the efforts of people all over the world enables us to make an even greater difference, meaning local initiatives are transformed into global impact. Together, our voice is louder, our actions more significant, our impact greater. Together, we are determined to change the world for good, creating a cleaner, healthier, fairer world for everyone.
We are seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Friends of the Earth through the next exciting phase of our strategic development. You will motivate, inspire and build the capacity of our organisation, staff and grassroots networks. You will also be an important advocate for a healthy environment that provides a flourishing life for current and future generations, and for amplifying the voice of a diverse range of groups.
The successful candidate will share our passion, ambition and objectives. They will understand the significance and urgency of the climate crisis and be committed to the goal of a fair and just transition away from a polluting world. They will also be able to articulate and lead the delivery of Friends of the Earth’s unique role in supporting inspirational people, campaigning in their local communities, to achieve wide-reaching and lasting change.
