About the role

We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Director of International Programmes. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is a transformational and impactful role. You will provide inspirational leadership for over 500 staff across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean in the International Development and Humanitarian Teams. You will develop a high performing team capable of achieving the Global Strategy and ensuring the organisation’s values are at the core of its delivery. As part of the Executive Team of Christian Aid, you will take shared responsibility for Christian Aid’s leadership, management and development.

About you

You will bring extensive strategic management and leadership experience as well as a sound understanding of contemporary international development and humanitarian response issues. You must have the strategic skills to play a key role as a member of the Senior Management Team and as a key advisor to the Chief Executive. In addition, the role requires an individual with the ability and gravitas to build and influence effective partnerships that will further promote Christian Aid’s vision and mission. You must be a practising Christian and be able to demonstrate a fundamental commitment to empowering transformational partnerships and realising localisation.
