After a highly successful year in 2019, which included entering THE World University rankings for the first time, securing TEF Gold, and climbing in all the league tables, the University has already exceeded goals set previously and is now considering its 2030 strategy. To continue this rapid advancement, they now seek an Executive Director of Academic and Strategic Planning who will further enable this pace of transformation.

Joining the University Executive Board, the postholder will report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor to develop and deliver the new Academic Strategy, translating the strategic vision of the university into the size and shape of the academic portfolio, whilst ensuring academic credibility and financial sustainability. The Executive Director will be responsible for strongly positioning the University in the light of external changes and ensuring that the opportunities presented are maximised. Evidence driven and horizon scanning, they will work across planning, business intelligence and quality assurance, working closely on forecasting/ scenario planning with the Chief Financial Officer and the regulatory system with the Chief Operating Officer. They will have a strong appreciation of the higher education sector, and be an impactful ambassador with ability to lobby relevant stakeholders, locally and nationally. Analytical and with exceptional judgement and strategic foresight, successful candidates will bring strong stakeholder management skills and agility.
