Generation Unlimited (4720) | Appointment of CEO (D2)
If the largest generation of young people in history is prepared for the transition to work, the potential for global progress is unlimited. We enable young people to become productive and engaged members of society.
Generation Unlimited is a global multisector partnership created to meet the urgent need for expanded education, skill development, employment, and engagement opportunities for young people aged 10–24. By bridging secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship, Generation Unlimited (GenU) will support every young person to thrive in the world of work and become productive problem solvers and engaged members of society. Launched in September 2018 along with the UN Youth Strategy, GenU creates public-private partnerships – globally and at the country-level – to co-create and support investment opportunities, programs and innovations at a large scale, and help young people become productive in life.
Following the completion of the initial phase of GenU’s organizational development, we are ready to scale our strategy and impact. We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative and visionary CEO to lead us into this new season of growth. The CEO will be responsible for providing leadership to the GenU partnership in developing and delivering our vision, mission, strategic objectives and operational plans; representing the GenU partnerships with governments and other public sector organizations, the private sector, civil society, policy makers, opinion formers, supporters, the media, and the general public; and is accountable to GenU Executive Committee. The CEO participates as an ex officio member of the Executive Committee, which is the partnership’s primary decision-making body.
UNICEF is currently hosting the Partnership and the GenU Global Team which works closely with UNICEF’s Divisions, Regional and Country Offices. Under the CEO’s leadership, the Global Team is responsible for strategic planning, supporting and monitoring the execution of the GenU strategy, liaising with the broad spectrum of partners, ensuring adequate level of resources for the partnership through public and private sector fundraising, distributing catalytic capital, and assisting in the work of the partnership’s governance bodies.
Young people are the calling of our time and everyone has a role to play. If you have a passion for creating opportunity that will enable the transformation of economic and social outcomes, raise global productivity, and reduce inequality; if you believe in the catalytic power of public private partnership and youth engagement; and if you can demonstrate the skills, experience and values we are seeking, then please get in touch.
