Continuing this successful transformation, the University is placing next-generation digital innovation at its heart. Going live in 2021, the new Catalyst Building will provide a sector-leading hub for students, staff and business, driving research, teaching and knowledge exchange, promoting and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, for the benefit of the locality and beyond.  The new Centre for Business, Innovation and Enterprise will sit at the core of these activities.

The University now seeks the inaugural Executive Director/Dean for the Centre, who will coordinate related activities and encourage a culture of entrepreneurial thinking across the University and in its interaction with all communities and the region. This is a critical leadership role within the University’s extended Executive team and will significantly contribute to the University’s ambitious future. This pioneering appointment calls for a bold leader, with ability to work collaboratively across the University and to provide shape and direction to the University’s business, innovation and enterprise portfolio, creating and implementing the Centre Business Plan. She/he will lead the development of the University innovation framework, ensuring the University provision meets the future needs of business and industry, and serves student requirements through a vibrant, market-led and modern portfolio. Externally engaged, the new Executive Director/Dean will help initiate and develop partnerships with Industry, SMEs and business innovators, aligned with the priorities of the Local Industrial Strategy and agreed University priorities for KEF.

Candidates will have extensive knowledge of developing innovation and enterprise initiatives and culture, organisational practice, and the effective engagement of staff. You will have a strong track record of leadership of diverse teams in a changing environment and experience of working across sectors and ideally at the intersection with higher education.
