The Jio Institute is a private, new-build Higher Education Institution, located in Mumbai, that will play a pivotal role in India’s development and in empowering India’s youth.

Initiated and supported by the Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic affiliate of Reliance Industries, it will be a critical part of Mumbai’s research and educational ecosystem, and play a major role in unlocking the country’s potential. Its ambition has already seen it declared an Institute of Eminence by the Government of India.

Led by its inaugural Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dipak Jain – the former Dean of INSEAD and of the Kellogg School of Management – the Jio Institute now seeks to recruit its inaugural team of academic leaders, administrative leaders, and core faculty.

The Jio Institute will matriculate its first class in July 2021, starting with its two inaugural graduate programmes, before expanding its course offering in the next phase of its development.

Development of the fully-fledged campus, which will be based in Dronagiri, is ongoing and will take time. However, to allow the Institute to open its doors, it will use two existing buildings in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai for starting some programs by July 2021.

The intention is that the Jio Institute will reach maturity, offering a full range of programmes and hosting a full complement of research clusters, by 2029. At this steady state, it will comprise seven Schools, employ 1,000 Faculty, and have a total enrolment of 10,000 students.


The role of Professor & Programme Chair, Digital Media and Marketing Communications

Lead the formulation of the concerned program’s long-term and medium-term strategy, in line with Jio Institute’s overarching academic strategy and lead its implementation within the institute through the definition of key teaching, research and service priorities in order to provide world-class education. Facilitate academic accreditations, achieve operational excellence and ensure financial sustainability of the program.
