The IKEA Foundation (Stichting IKEA Foundation) is the philanthropic arm of INGKA Foundation, the owner of the INGKA Group of companies. We aim to improve the lives of vulnerable children by enabling their families to create sustainable livelihoods and fight and cope with climate change. We believe it is possible to enable families to achieve a better, more prosperous life while also reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.
The IKEA Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Programme Manager to lead initiatives in our Special Initiatives (SI) portfolio, where we explore themes related to climate and economic livelihoods outside the scope of our core portfolios and implement our organizational commitment to the humanitarian sector and emergency response. The Programme Manager is responsible for funding (grants) and monitoring initiatives within the SI portfolio. The Programme Manager, in collaboration with the broader programme team, executes and manages exploratory and humanitarian, funding opportunities in line with our organizational strategy. The aim is to spend available funding as responsibly and effectively as possible, with maximum potential impact and learning, and to contribute optimally to the mission and vision of the IKEA Foundation.
We are seeking an individual with experience working on on global development themes/the SDGs and/or climate/environmental issues, and an affinity with the organizational themes of the IKEA Foundation. Individuals with strong strategic experience are preferred. Most importantly, the successful individual will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the IKEA Foundation.

This full-time (38 hours) position will be based in Leiden, The Netherlands, and the salary will be competitive with market rate.
