The European Society of Endodontology (ESE) is a non-profit federal organisation with global reach and impact focused on the broad field of Endodontology, the branch of dental sciences dealing with health, injuries to and diseases of the dental pulp (the ‘living centre’ of the tooth) and periradicular region (around the root tip), and their relationship with general health and wellbeing. The Society exists to promote the development of Endodontology to benefit society, patients, Endodontists, General Dentists, Educators, Researchers and those in training, as well as to represent Endodontology and Endodontists within Europe. The ESE is a vibrant and dynamic organisation consisting of 36 member-societies spanning across 33 European countries and represents over 7500 ordinary members and over 500 individual specialist, certified, guest, dental nurse and postgraduate student members.
ESE is looking for a COO to ensure the Society’s mission, aims, objectives and strategic goals are achieved. The COO provides operational and financial leadership and is responsible for implementing and integrating the strategic plans of the Society S/he will work closely with the Executive Board to consider ethical, innovative and financially viable ways of supporting its activities. The COO will play a crucial role in strengthening the esteem of the ESE. Moreover, the successful candidate will bring a proven track-record of building an effective network and in maintaining excellent links with relevant stakeholders (e.g. patient groups, general dentists, endodontists, universities, relevant scientific societies, politicians and the dental industry).
The COO will be appointed by the Executive Board following a formal appointment process and be ratified by the General Assembly. The appointee will report directly to, and be accountable to, the Executive Board for the activities of the Society. Due to the remote working nature of this role, the location is flexible.
